2010 Stream Cliff Ride

In Memory of Ron Marriage

Saturday, May 15th, 2010 is the day for the annual MABC Stream Cliff Ride from Madison to Stream Cliff Herb Farm in Commiskey, Indiana! Here are the details..

It’s a 50 mile route of sweet Jefferson County Countryside.

The route has flat stretches with several rolling areas. On a 1-10 scale of difficulty is estimated to about a 5.

Fifty miles too much? Do 25 and have someone pick you up after lunch at the Stream Cliff Herb Farm where the rest of the riders will be eating. Want to have your spouse or friends join in for lunch just let us know. I will have a Toyota Sienna van and can haul back bikes, but that means no extra people. If you have a ride back to Madison, I will help get your bike back. Please indicate the need for bike transport on your RSVP!

Click here to download the Route Map, Cue Sheet and Waiver. If you are not a member of the MABC, please print and sign the waiver and bring it on the day of the ride. I will also have printed copies at Bob Evans at 8:00 am.

Tuesday May 11 so we can let Stream Cliff know how many to expect.
When responding, list name and if you will be eating at Stream Cliff. Also let me know how many non riders will be joining you.

9:00 am:
RIDE STARTS from the Kroger parking lot directly behind Bob Evans

11:30 Noon:

Afternoon:
Return to Madison for about 50 miles total

Finally, HELMETS required. No sag support, but Club Members will assist with flats. Make sure your bike is in great riding order!!!!!!! You can call my cell at 812-599-4536 for catastrophic breakdowns.

Directions to Stream Cliff for lunchers:
From Madison Take Highway 7 North to State Route 250. Go West to Highway 3. Turn Right on 3 and go about 2.5 miles North. Turn Right on CR850S. Stream Cliff is ~1/4 mile on the Left.

From I-65 Take the Highway 250 Exit at Uniontown to Paris Crossing. Just after Paris Crossing, turn Left on 3 and go about 2.5 miles North. Turn Right on CR850S. Stream Cliff is ~1/4 mile on the Left.

Ron Marriage
Ron, and his wife Cheryl, served as past MABC officers, in addition to Ron’s years of volunteer service as the MABC Webmaster. Although Ron’s health did not allow him to enjoy cycling first-hand, he gave generously of his time and computer skills to those of us who do ride by providing the MABC with its first website and the maintenance to keep it going. We honor him for so many wonderful attributes and accomplishments, beyond those he contributed to this club, and we remember him fondly. The photo here is of Ron, enjoying lunch at Stream Cliff four years ago during the MABC Stream Cliff Ride on 8 August 2005. Ron passed away 14 September 2005.
