MABC Club Officers for 2020...
Just like every club or organizations there has to be someone in charge. So that's why you are seeing this page of club members who have a good reason to see that this club continues to prosper. Every year we elect those who volunteer and at years end they are appointed as such.
If you are a member, please give it a try..
PRESIDENT - Stacy Crawley
I joined the bicycle club in 2014, but I have been cycling for about 10 years. My cycling experience has been combined with triathlon training and triathlon competitions. I started competing in triathlons consistently about 5 years ago. I completed my first Ironman in 2012. With many half Ironman competitions under my belt, I feel this is the perfect distance to train and stay in great shape since eating is one of my favorite things to do. I have competed in all triathlon distances. I love cycling, hiking, running, being outdoors and spending time with family.
VICE-PRESIDENT - Austin Courtney-Sims
Being involved and active is very important to me. This past year I joined the Madison Area Bike Club and will be serving as the Vice President of the club for 2020. Being a member of this club opened my eyes to many groups of people who enjoy having active lifestyles and being involved as much as I do. I realized after joining this club that I wanted to do more to be involved and be a part of Madison’s growth. I am also a member of the Milers of the Ohio Valley run club. I work as the Executive Director of the Madison Main Street Program and coordinate public events and promote Madison's local businesses and opportunities. My hobbies include:
Riding my bike
Playing softball at Kiwanis
Jogging with my husband and my dog
Distillery / winery tours and tastings
Spending time at my family’s farm
Traveling to see my friends throughout the Midwest
DIY home projects and readings books about environmental stewardship
sitting on the couch watching Netflix and eating my favorite snack (lays ruffles with cottage cheese)
Fun fact about me:
I can parallel park any type of vehicle on the left and right side of a street!
TREASURER - Sonia Poirier
I have worked at Arvin Sango in the finance department since 2004. I have two children Emily (22) and Grant (20) Ward.
I have been active physically most of my life. I attended the Canadian national synchronized swimming championship while in high school. I swam the backstroke at the High School State Championship in Orlando, Florida. After college, I trained for triathlon and participated in the national short course championship. I also participated in many 100 mile and 100 km bicycle rides. I participated in at least one 5 km race per year for most of the last 15 years.
I also like to kayak, hike, snow ski and scuba dive but my favorite sports activity has always been bicycle riding and this season I am enjoying tandem stoking.
